Court Hearing in The “Ferry Kyslytskyi” Case: Advocate Dmytro D.S. Has Filed a Motion to Join A Participant
On 1 June 2026 at 16:30, the next open court hearing in criminal case No. 509/744/26 will be held at the Kyiv District Court of Odesa, presided over by Judge Artem Shcherbyna.
The case concerns a motion by a prosecutor of the Black Sea District Prosecutor’s Office of Odesa Oblast to close, pursuant to Article 284(1)(3-1) of the Code of Criminal Procedure of Ukraine, criminal proceeding No. 12017160150003076 opened on 30 October 2017 on the grounds of criminal offences under Article 358(1)(2) and Article 356 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (forgery of documents, seals, and stamps, and their use).
On 26 May 2026, advocate Dmytro Zlati filed a motion with the court to join Larysa Cheban as a third party — a person who claims to be the owner of the so-called “ferry ‘Kyslytskyi'”, which is the subject of a seizure order and physical evidence in the case.
The seizure of ferry VYL-0224-K was imposed by rulings of the investigating judge of the Ovidiopol District Court of Odesa Oblast dated 7 February 2023 and 24 January 2025, on the grounds that the re-registration of the ferry in the name of Petro Cheban was carried out on the basis of forged documents — in particular, the “Vessel Technical Inspection Report” dated 15 November 2015 and the “Vessel Sale and Purchase Agreement” dated 14 February 2003, both of which appear in nine court rulings establishing the fact of forgery.
The hearing is open to the public.
Media representatives, members of the public, and all interested parties are welcome to attend in courtroom No. 213 of the Kyiv District Court of Odesa (3b Varnenska Street) at 16:30.
